Looking for a way to beat the heat? How about an Xterra race in Charlotte, NC?
We are right at 3 weeks away from the XTERRA Whitewater weekend (July 9th & 10th). The weekend features both an off-road triathlons and trail running events on the beautiful trails along the Cawtaba River and hosted at the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Last year, 275 runners and triathletes representing 15 states joined in on the fun.
Races include Saturday's XTERRA North Carolina Whitewater 8.25 / 3.5 Mile Trail Run is race number one of a three-race XTERRA North Carolina Trail Run Series. Remember, you can run in as many or as few of the events as you would like, but if you are trying to qualify for series points... the more you run... the more you get!
Sunday is the XTERRA Whitewater Off-road Triathlon which includes a half-mile, two-part swim (which includes both the Cawtaba River and the US National Whitewater Center man-made pond), 16.5 mile mountain bike and 5 mile trail run through some challenging, technical, rough-n-tough, single-track trails.
Can't decide which to do? Race both the 8.25 mile trail run and the triathlon to qualify for the Weekend Warrior award!
